In 2023 Perm retained its leading position in the all-Russian ranking of public transport quality
Our city once again topped the list of cities of the country besides Moscow and St.Petersburg in the annual rating of the company "Simetra". This is a scientific study of public transport systems, which is based on open data and geospatial analysis data.
The Perm Department of Transport reported that in 2023 Perm retained its leading position in Simetra's ranking of Russian cities in terms of the quality of public transport. As in 2022, the city of Perm took the first place among 100 Russian cities with the exception of Moscow and St. Petersburg. This year, our city scored 77.6 points out of a possible 100, which is 4.6 points more than last year.
“This assessment of our activities at the federal level is rewarding. Together with the regional authorities, we are working to improve the quality of transport services. But we are not resting on our laurels - we will move forward. This year we will finish the reconstruction of the tram line along Dzerzhinskogo Street. Gradually other lines will be reconstructed: we plan to start works on Borchaninova, Lenina, Belinskogo, Sibirskaya and Petropavlovskaya streets. We are forming a plan to renovate bus stop pavilions. Another 14 new tram cars will arrive in Perm this year and next year,” emphasized Eduard Sosnin.
When assessing the quality of public transport, the rating compilers paid attention to the availability and coverage of electric transport infrastructure, as well as the length of dedicated lanes, the age of rolling stock and other factors. In addition, the diversity and availability of the fare menu, average waiting time, the quality of passenger information, the level of digitalization, the presence of a uniform style of the transport system and many other indicators were taken into account.
